Bite Back with Abbey Sharp

Always BLOATED, Gassy, and Backed Up? It Might Actually Be SIBO (and How to Fix it) with Dr. Lindsey Walker

Episode Summary

In today’s episode of Bite Back with Abbey Sharp, I will be chatting with my own naturopathic doctor (and advisor on my supplement brand, Neue Theory), Dr. Lindsey Walker, ND. Lindsey specializes in digestive disorders, women’s health, dermatology and pediatrics. Lindsey has been my go-to support person as I’ve battled through a functional gut disorder called SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), following the birth of my second son. This is a condition where excessive amounts of bacteria pool in the small intestine leading to extreme bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue and an inability to tolerate a lot of your favorite foods without a painful flair. Lindsey and I are going to talk about the causes and symptoms of SIBO, testing, and treatment, the role of low fodmap and carnivore diets, probiotics dos and don'ts, and some tips for managing the bloat as you work through treatment.
