We discuss why people tend to binge after dieting, and all of the compensatory mechanisms that prevent weight loss and encourage binge eating. We discuss some of the biggest cognitive distortions that cause binge eating and disordered eating. We also talk about how the principles of CBT can help you reprogram your disordered relationship with food by using mantras, anchoring behaviors, and habit stacking. We close off with how to prevent disordered eating or binging relapse and I give some actionable examples of how to incorporate these CBT principles into your life.
